5 Post-Gym Hair Hacks
Help your hair live its best post-workout life.
We’ve all been there. You’ve just given your life and soul to your workout and you come out looking like you’ve just swum backwards through a swamp. Your face is red, you’re blinking through the sweat, your hair is flat to your head and you have to run to a meeting which is commencing, erm, right now.
Not every gym session comes with enough time to have a lovely shower, blow dry your hair and step into the office feeling like your best self. So how can we save our precious hair from the sweaty work out, without wasting our equally precious time? Here are five post-gym hair hacks you need in your life.
Save time refuelling too with these brown rice meal prep recipes:
1. Dry shampoo is your best friend
Have one in your handbag, one in your gym bag and one in your locker. Also one in your car, because you are always going to need dry shampoo post-workout. Top tip of the day is to use a generous spritz of dry shampoo before your work out and then style into your desired ‘do. The dry shampoo will absorb the sweat droplets as you power through, and with a second spritz when you finish you’ll be good to go!
2. Use light hair bobbles and hair bands
The goal here is to eliminate that annoying indent you get in your hair when it’s been in a tight ponytail or thin hairband. Get yourself a thick fabric hairband or an invisible bobble to tie your hair into place. We all know the dreaded hair shelf won’t go anywhere without a wash!
3. Blow dry the sweat out of your roots
For the time conscious, this is one to consider. Sounds odd but bare with us – this is essentially a quick sweat drying exercise. Grab the changing room hair dryer, blast your roots, hence absorbing the dampness and off you go. Expect a little extra volume as a result.
The up-do is your pal post-workout and what’s the best way to turn a low pony into an acceptable work meeting hairstyle? Accessories, of course! Never under-estimate the power of a bobby pin or cute hairband, which turns a messy bun into a chic work of hair-art.
5. Wear a sweat band
Not to play Captain Obvious, but wearing a sweatband round your hair will absorb sweat (even if it's not the coolest look in the world). Which is basically the thing we are trying to cull from our post gym hair. Perhaps this is really the answer to our prayers?
