Celebrity Workouts IRL: Frame Barre
Royal Ballet School, here we come. Sort of.
Okay, so we may not exactly have the grace of a world-class ballerina, but having heard loads about Barre, a fitness favourite amongst many celebrities including the Victoria's Secret Angels, we were keen to get down to London's Frame and try it out for ourselves.
Spoiler alert: While we're probably *not* going to be auditioning for the Royal Ballet School anytime soon, we have just found ourselves a new go-to workout.
What exactly does it entail?
Based on ballet technique, Barre is described on Frame's website as: 'The low-impact, full-body toning workout that's oh-so-now… But Barre's roots are firmly rooted in the centuries-old practice of ballet and 100% guaranteed to give you results'.
Taking your place along the barre, you work through low-intensity, heart-rate-raising intervals of squats, leg raises, crunches, planks and more, using ankle weights, wrist weights, a pilates ball and a floor mat. Not all at the same time though, don't worry.
The class, set to a super fun soundtrack (we dare you not to sing along), is all about technique, strength, and working every single muscle in your body - something you'll definitely be feeling the effects of the next day.
Why the celebs love it...
Barre is a firm favourite amongst Victoria's Secret models, with the likes of Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel and Alessandra Ambrosio all embracing their inner ballerina. That means we're practically a VS Angel now, right?
Low-impact definitely doesn't mean low-sweat, and we were 100% rocking a sweaty glow.
HUGE. We came out looking like the Cheshire cat and itching to do it all again.
Could we move the next day?
If crawling up the stairs counts, then yes.
