Kimberly Wyatt Has Her Own Dance Workout Class And It’s Amazing
The pro dancer and former Pussycat Doll has serious moves and she’s ready to share them with you.
Look, we love ‘big fish little fish cardboard box’ as much as the next person, but we’re never going to turn down the opportunity to pick up some actual pro dance moves from an expert – which is why when we found out dancer and Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt was bringing her ‘Bring Your Heels’ class to Third Space City, we were there ASAP.
Despite the name, you don’t actually need to wear heels to the class – probs for the best, especially if you can barely walk in them. Kimberly kicks the class off with a warm-up including ballet-inspired pliés and relevés to strengthen your feet up so you eventually can dance in heels. In the meantime, these moves help condition your feet, legs and core for the essential foundation of a dancer’s body.
You then move on to learning a mini dance routine – it can be a bit daunting to stand in front of a super experienced pro like Kimberly and flail your way through the first few steps, but she is the most supportive instructor and encourages you to channel your best self into the routine. There are plenty of repetitions too, so even if you’re lost there are tons of opportunities to catch up with the moves.
The class wraps up with a chilled cool-down and stretch before you leave, feeling a bit more bendy and mega empowered. Kimberly says “It’s so important to maintain wellness and fitness but still have fun and love your body. What better way to do it than through dance!” – and she totally nails it. This isn’t a super strict ‘get it wrong and you’re out’ dance class – it’s all about feeling like the best version of you.
