A new trailer has dropped online for the upcoming remake of classic sci-fi saga, Flatliners, in which a bunch of medical students stumble upon a way to pass over into the afterlife… and come back again. Needless to say, it doesn’t turn out well for them!

By stopping their hearts for increasingly long periods of time, our heroes realise they can get a look into the hereafter without actually dying. But tinkering around with life and death turns out to be pretty risky, particularly when it becomes clear that the test subjects have brought something back with them from the other side. Something not altogether friendly…

Looks like it’s going to be pretty daft, then, but with a quality cast on board, it should be a cut above your average horror movie fodder. Our money is on Diego Luna to bite the dust first. He definitely looks the most worried in the footage we’ve seen so far…

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev and co-starring Ellen Page, Nina Dobrev and James Norton, Flatliners will open in the UK on 29 September 2017.
