Fleur East Apologises To Mark Ronson After Uptown Funk Performance

The singer didn't realise her sensational rendition of the track would force the hit maker to release the track early..

Fleur East has apologised to Mark Ronson after covering his song on last weekend's X Factor before it had officially been released.

Her performance of 'Uptown Funk' was such a hit with the publicthat Mark bought the release of the track forward by five weeks.

I enjoy a good cover from time to time

The hit, which is sung by Bruno Mars, was originally due to be droppedon 11 January.

Simon Cowell boldly called Fleur's version "one of the top three performances" in X Factor's history.

Fleur told Newsbeat: "Yeah I'm really sorry but all I can say is it's props to all their creative hard work because it's an amazing song."

"I don't know what they were thinking in their minds. I don't think anyone expected my performance to be as popular as it was."

Adding: "We didn't expect it to go to number one on iTunes. That's crazy like."

Ever the professional, Fleur just hopes that the right version of the track hits the top of the charts: "It would be a shame in many ways, obviously because it was their song and they created it, it would only be right that theirs got to number one."
