Flo Rida 'Didn't Rip Off' Diplo's Butter's Theme Video

Flo Rida has responded to claims made by Diplo that his new video 'rips off' his promo for track Butter's Theme. 

 

Earlier this week, the producer launched a war of words against Flo after seeing his new promo for Pitbull collaboration Can't Believe It, with Diplo calling the rapper a "f**k ass f**kboi" on Twitter.

 

He then continued his rant: "I'm goin to go toilet paper the trees in front of flo-rida mansion if you want u can ride or die with me. also bring eggs.

 

 

 

"I'll totally fight flo-rida in a street fight and totally get my ass whooped . But ill fight him anyway cuz I'll fight for what I believe in."

 

Dip later admitted that his beef with the brawny MC was "kinda lame," though that didn't stop him from changing his Twitter handle to Diplo-Rida.

 

During an appearance on MTV's RapFix Live, Flo Rida was asked whether or not he fears for the safety of his Florida mansion, and what his thoughts were on the similarities between the Can't Believe It and Butter's Theme videos.

 

And while he didn't say much, Flo let it be known that he didn't rip off anybody ... in fact, he says Can't Believe It is merely an homage to ass-masters of the past.

 

 

He stated: "[The] only thing stands out in that is the fact that I thank God I can afford a mansion. I haven't even seen the [Butter's Theme] video, but shout out to Sir Mix-A-Lot, 2 Live Crew who definitely inspired my video."

 

And as for Diplo's dig? Mr. Rida went on to add: "For someone like him. I just wish him the best of luck on his career."

 

Diplo-Rida is yet to comment on Flo's comments.
