MTV Review: Florence Spins Up A Storm At Apple Music Festival

We're dizzy with love as Florence + The Machine close this year's fest at the Roundhouse...

Oh Flo you can do no wrong - what a night!

Unfortunately, earlier in the day, support act James Bay cancelled his performance due to illness so many eager fans were waiting over an hour in the Roundhouse venue for Florence + The Machine to take their place as headliners on the bill of the final night of the 2015 Apple Music Festival. But boy was the wait worth it.

The anticipation as Flo and her band took to the stage was at fever pitch and straight away we were struck by how effortless her performance was.

Singing classics from her first album Lungs ('Rabbit Heart', 'Drumming Song' and 'Dog Days' to name but three) right through to her latest hits like 'What Kind Of Man' and 'Queen Of Peace', Florence owned the stage.

Not one to stand still, she shimmied and spun across the space with all the grace of a ballerina, springing from left to right, reaching out high over the spellbound crowd.

The band put on an energetic show, whilst Flo included chats with the audience, funny stories and encouraged the Roundhouse to join into a mass birthday singalong for her dad who sat proudly and watched from the balcony. Aww.

Of course no Florence + The Machine performance is complete without the crowd stripping and hurling their shirts and jumpers in the air at her, to be swung over her head and around the stage. Natch.

It was definitely something special to behold in such a world class band in such an intimate venue. Bring on next year!
