As dawn was breaking this morning Foo Fighters tweeted something that made Foo fans' hearts across the world stop momentarily. A "band announcement" is coming tonight.

WHAT.

These things are never good, right?

Naturally everyone's freaking out. Are they splitting up? WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Last year the Foos had to pull their headline slot at Glastonbury after Dave Grohl broke his leg, so the positive people among usare hoping they'll finish what they (nearly) started.Glasto do have one more headline slot to fill this year after alleven if Emily Eavis says they're not. *Grumble*

But what if it's something bad?

'Entertainment Weekly' have been told by a rep that rumours ofthe band splitting up are“utterly ridiculous”so maybe, just maybe, we're looking at solo projects or - *draws breath* - ahiatus?

Over the weekend, Grohl soundtracked the Oscars' 'In Memoriam' section playing an acoustic version of the Beatles' 'Blackbird' ... let's hope it wasn't an ode to any bad news later tonight.
