Foo Fighters have spoken for the first time about the bar they are hosting tonight at the Europe Music Awards.

Frontman Dave Grohl told us: Some of my best conversations have happened at the bar so when MTV came to us I said: Can we put in a bar?

When the Nirvana man was asked what advice hed give to new bands he said: Just dont do cocaine.

The next journalist at the press conference asked what advice Grohl has for Pete Doherty - who plays the show with Babyshambles.

Laughing the Foo Fighter repeated: Dont do cocaine.

And as a warning he added: If Petes clean and sober he doesnt want to be in a bar with me!

And as if to demonstrate his hard partying ways Grohl said: Last time I was in London I ended up at a bar with a biker named Paul from Newcastle looking at a tattoo on his belly.

Whatever floats your boat Dave!
