Why Is No One Questioning How Gross Red Wine Hot Chocolate Sounds?
Is it delicious or is it really kinda disgusting?
If you've been on the internet this week and are partial to a website that covers food, you've probably seen everyone raving about red wine hot chocolate.
It's not a particularly new thing, but all of a sudden it's become a bit trendy, most probably because it's now cold outside and everyone's drunk approximately 457 gingerbread lattes in their lives and are no longer all that impressed by them.
But the real question is, why the hell is no one questioning how absolutely gross the concept sounds?
Yes red wine is good with a slab of chocolate the size of your face to wash it down, but do we really need to mix them together and drink them? Has the internet finally gone too far...?
According to the internet the answer is both yes and no, and while people seem split between loving the idea and thinking it sounds like hell in a Christmas-themed cup, there's no denying that people are kind of obsessed with it right now.
If you are wondering how to give it a go for yourself we're all kinds of suspicious of you, but here's how it's done anyway.
Basically you make some hot chocolate in a pan and for every cup of hot chocolate, you add in 3/4 of a cup of red wine.
Similar to how you would mull wine, you gently heat all the ingredients up together and VOILA, a warming treat with an adult twist. Top with cream and marshmallows for an extra bit of luxury if you need something to disguise the taste of the strange concoction waiting for you inside your mug.
But what do you reckon - up for trying it or think it sounds, well, a bit rank?
