This New Item In Fortnite Is Straight Out Of The Movie 'IT'
We all float down here, Georgie...
Balloons are coming to Fortnite!
As we say goodbye to Fortnitemares Challenges at the end of the week (so hurry if you're still trying to unlock the Dark Engine Glider!) Epic Games has detailed what's coming up next for its fan-favourite Battle Royale game: balloons!
"Blow ‘em up and float away, this new addition lets you get around like never before," write our pals at Epic Games, before confirming that we'll get 20 balloons in a pack, although you'll only be able to use six of them at any one time. Blow 'em up, though, you'll be able to float your way out of mischief, not to mention get the ability to silently get the drop on enemies.
They won't last forever, though - especially as your foes can pop 'em with a well-placed bullet, while you can't return a single shot - so you'll need to use them strategically if you're trying to sneak your way around the map. Balloons also only last so long at max build height.

They're Epic rarity, so you won't see them a lot, but if you're lucky you'll find 'em in the usual places: floor loot, chests, Supply Drops, Supply Llamas, and Vending Machines.
In other news, guided missiles, the semi-auto sniper, and the dual pistols have been withdrawn.
Epic has also announced changes are coming to the Glider Re-Deployment system after its initial testing.
"We’ve finished our first week of Glider Re-deploy being available in all modes," Epic says. "During this time we’ve been collecting internal data and monitoring constructive feedback from all of you. We understand that not all players agree with this change, but we would like to continue with this functionality in the game based on the positive results we’ve been seeing."
