The One Where We Went To Comedy Central’s FriendsFest
AND MET GUNTHER!
Comedy Central’s FriendsFest is currently the hottest ticket in London town, offering fans of the hit TV show the chance to step inside the apartments of Rachel, Monica, Joey and Chandler, for five days only.
With plenty of touches from Phoebe and Ross too, from a busking spot to dinosaurs, the Brick Lane Boiler House set-up is any diehard’s dream.
While tickets for FriendsFest are completely sold out, we stopped by the press launch on Tuesday evening, to sample some of Rachel's traditional English trifle. WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS.
GUNTHER WAS THERE!
Actor James Michael Tyler hosted the press launch and OMFG we had no chill. Hiding our Ross and Rachel ‘She Got Off The Plane!’ T-shirt, to avoid upsetting Gunther, it took us all our energy not to tell him we’d think of him anytime we saw a man with hair brighter than the sun.
After managing NOT to call him Gunther, we can confirm that JMT couldn’t BE any nicer, though we haven’t tested his coffee making skills. Michelle Keegan might have, but mostly she was just after a selfie.
THE MEMORABILIA IS INSANE!
From the Gellar Cup, to the really long letter Rachel wrote Ross (“You fell AS-LEEEEEP?!), it’s all there and it’s all epic.
THERE’S A WALL OF GUEST STARS!
Dakota Fanning and Brad Pitt are just two of the memorable Friends guests mounted on the wall.
THERE’S A FOUNTAIN AND UMBRELLAS!
Granted, you’ll struggle to fit six of you in the fountain, but the concept is there.
YOU CAN PRETEND TO BE JOEY AND CHANDLER!
Complete with your own La-Z-Boys.
Or, even better, YOU CAN PRETEND TO BE MONICA AND RACHEL!
Need we say more?
