This ‘Friends’ Scene Was Deleted After 9/11, And It’s Not Hard To See Why
We doubt this would ever be shown on TV nowadays.
When it comes to Friends, we typically don’t know anyone who hasn’t seen every episode 20 times over – so the thought of new footage is always pretty bloody exciting.
And while there’s still no Friends reunion on the horizon (sob), an old deleted scene has recently resurfaced, and it’s four minutes of Chandler and Monica greatness that we’ve never seen before. WINNING.

The clip, which was due to air during Season 8, Episode 2 (The One Where Rachel Tells Ross, obvs), involves Monica and Chandler going through airport security before their honeymoon – and as per usual, Chanandeler Bong can’t keep his mouth shut.
After reading a sign that strictly prohibits jokes about plane highjacking or bombs, he does just that, with the two then ending up being questioned by TSA officers.
Since the scene was due to air two weeks after the devastating events of 9/11, the show creators rightly decided to pull the storyline, writing at the beginning of the clip: "As part of the history of the show, we hope that the scenes can [now] be viewed in the spirit which they were originally intended."
To be honest, we couldn’t imagine a scene like this ever being cleared for TV again – especially not for something as innocent(ish) as Friends.
