The Director Of Disney's 'Frozen' Hasn't Ruled Out Giving Elsa A Girlfriend
Frozen's director Jennifer Lee addressed Elsa's sexuality.
It's no secret that Frozen is one of the most celebrated Disney movies to date, and since the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend went viral back in 2016, there is a chance the franchise could become even more iconic in the future.
Yep, it seems the film's director, Jennifer Lee, certainly hasn't ruled it the possibility of giving the film's protagonist a girlfriend, which would make Elsa the first openly lesbian Disney princess.
Take a look at MTV Movies Screening Room: Game Night, Red Sparrow and I, Tonya...
In an interview with the Huffington Post, she was asked the burning question on everyone's lips, will Elsa get a girlfriend? She said: "Where we're going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we're really conscientious about these things."
Jennifer added: "For me… Elsa’s every day telling me where she needs to go, and she’ll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa’s doing in her life, she’s telling me every day."
With the film's sequel set to hit cinemas in November 2019, Jennifer can't give too much away before it's release but it seems she's excited about the conversation that has arisen online.
"I love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film - that's creating a dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people," she continued.
Jennifer added: "It means the world to us that we're part of these conversations."
While it's certainly not set in snow, er, we mean stone, this is all sounding very promising. We for one are 100% for it.
