The Frozen Musical Casts Its Elsa And Anna

Exciting stuff.

Get ready to have Let It Go stuck in your head for the rest of the day, because there’s official news from the upcoming Frozen musical! After weeks of radio silence, we have some casting to discuss, with Caissie Levy and Patti Murin finally confirmed as Elsa and Anna.

Who are they, right? Well, they might not be too familiar on this side of the pond, but both women have serious Broadway credentials. Levy played Fantine in the recent Les Miserables revival, while Murin has starred in Broadway hits Xanadu and Lysistrata Jones.

The girls will be joined by Greg Hildreth as Olaf the snowman, John Riddle as Prince Hans, Robert Creighton as bad-guy-in-chief the Duke of Weselton and newcomer Jelani Alladin as Kristoff. None of those are household names either, although with a brand like Frozen, that’s probably not going to be a dealbreaker.

The production has also brought a new choreographer on board in the form of Evita’s Rob Ashford, with rehearsals set to begin in June ahead of a run at the St. James theatre in early 2018. Start praying for a UK transfer, or get yourselves to Broadway!
