A Guide To Game Of Thrones’ New Cast Members
And guess what? Some of them are hotties…
By Tamara Roper
A lot of people are probably still reeling from the last series of Game of Thrones, so the announcement of new cast members will definitely send a few over the edge with excitement for season five. With an already notoriously attractive ensemble, the list of new faces does not disappoint, as this two-minute introduction video proves.
There are fresh faces (Nell Tiger Free is only 14), familiar faces (you’ve seen Jonathan Pryce playing Keira Knightley’s dad in Pirates of the Caribbean) and definitely a few ‘I need to Google immediately’ faces. We’re talking Grade A hotties who’ll give the likes of Margaery Tyrell and Jon Snow a run for their money. Because two minutes just ain’t enough, and because we’re really nosy, here’s a bit more goss about some of the shiny new cast members.
Alexander Siddig: Massive Silver Fox
First thing’s first with this guy – he’s got the longest name in the world. Ready? Deep breath. Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi. That’s right. Nephew to the ex-Prime Minister of Sudan, former Star Trek actor and possibly the biggest DILF to grace our screens since Sandy Cohen, Alexander Siddig will be playing Doran Martell, relative of season four screen candy Prince Oberyn. As gutted as we were when Oberyn had his eyes gouged out, it’s sweet relief that he’s been replaced with an appropriately dapper brother.
Toby Sebastian: HELLO THERE
For those out there still weeping over the loss of prime alpha male Robb Stark, chuck your Kleenex away - or not, as the case may be. Tony Sebastian is undeniably beautiful, all brown curls, angel eyes and an accent that makes the Made In Chelsea cast sound like they’re from TOWIE. Though his career to date hasn’t been incredibly fruitful, he’s already mates with Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, and Hailee Steinfield. Toby will be joining the happily growing Martell family, as the son of Doran.
DeObia Oparei: Everyone’s New Best Mate
You know when you meet someone for the first time and instantly get incredibly good vibes? DeObia Oparei is this guy. Wearing a sleeveless denim jacket over a bare chest, a quick Google heralds the news that DeObia stands seven feet tall in platform heels, a wonderfully precise piece of information. He’ll be playing Areo Hotah, captain of Doran Martell’s guards - so he’s essentially the better version of Jaime Lannister.
Jessica Henwick: Part of the GoT Girl Power Squad
By the sounds of things, Brit actress Jessica Henwick is going to be a new addition to the burgeoning crew of knife-wielding women. She was the first East Asian actress to be cast in a lead role in a British TV series, and trained in Wushu (just as badass as you’d imagine) in preparation. Brandishing blades in the trailer and smiling sweetly about it, we reckon she’ll be a force to be reckoned with as Nymeria Sand, one of Prince Oberyn’s eight illegitimate daughters.
Rosabell Laurenti Sellers: Brimming With Enthusiasm
Rosabell can’t help but remind us of Taylor Townsend from The O.C., or Brook Soso from Orange Is The New Black - well meaning, but more enthusiastic than your average Joe. Her character Tyene Sand is the sister of Nymeria, a double-knife brandishing daughter of Dorne, who we bet will be after some crazy revenge for her Dad’s eye-popping death.
Keisha Castle-Hughes: Where Have I Seen Your Face Before?
There's something a little familiar about Keisha's face - perhaps an ex-Hollyoaks star or someone from a teen movie? As it turns out she was the youngest female to be nominated for an Oscar, with her performance as a ten-year-old in Whale Rider. Keisha's been fairly off the radar since then, having moved to Hollywood to try and launch her career. Looks like it panned out, because as the third of the eight Sand sisters, she'll be making up what seems to be the best looking sisterhood in Dorne.
