Game Of Thrones Breaks The Sopranos Viewing Record
Current season of fantasy drama becomes HBO's biggest hit ever...
HBO has revealed that Game Of Thrones has unseated The Sopranos as its biggest-ever hit.
The broadcaster and programme maker has recorded an average of 18.4 million viewers for the current run of the fantasy drama.
In contrast, the Emmy-award winning mafia drama starring the late James Gandolfini had 18.2 million viewers back in 2002.
GoT has seen its audience grow by a hefty four million viewers since season three - and has been breaking piracy records as well as legitimate ones.
An exec at HBO this week vented his spleen regarding the show's lack of awards attention.
