Game Of Thrones 'Could Last Eight Series'
Show's creators hope it will run to 80 hours of telly in total...
The team behind hit fantasy dramaGame Of Thrones have claimed that the show could run as long as eight series if TV network HBO is willing.
David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who adapted George RR Martin's series of novels for the small screen, reckon they've got enough source material to do another five seasons - after the third one which is due on TV soon.
Metro quoted them as saying: "We would like eight or nine seasons, if we live that long and HBO keeps wanting to make the show.
"We have the opportunity here to tell a coherent story that lasts for 80 hours. And while a canvas of that size presents all sorts of storytelling problems, it also allows us to spend more time with these characters we love than we’ll ever get again."
There will still be more of Martin's third novel left after the third series of the TV show - and he has signalled that he plans to write at least two more novels.
Season three comes to Sky Atlantic on 1 April.
