Pokemon Go: We're So Excited This Super Rare Legendary Pokemon is FINALLY Coming

Make way for Pokémon Rayquaza!

Pay attention, Pokémon Go-ers - Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza is on its way! Rayquaza - originally from the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire series - will be available in Raid Battles in the hit mobile game between now and March 16, 2018.

"Prepare for exciting new adventures as you encounter even more Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region on February 9!" says Pokémon Go developer Niantic in a blog post. "Alongside several Flying- and Dragon-type Pokémon appearing in Pokémon GO for the first time, the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will descend from the ozone layer and become available in Raid Battles for a limited time."

And that's not all. As well as Rayquaza, you'll also be able to find in the wild several Dragon- and Flying-type Pokémon that are also from the Hoenn region, too, such as Salamence, Altaria, and Metagross.

"In celebration of over 100 Hoenn region Pokémon becoming available in the game, every Pokémon encountered in the wild from now until February 13 will be one originally discovered in the Hoenn region," adds Niantic.

Sadly, the introduction of these new Pokémon means that the Legendary Water-type Pokémon Kyogre will no longer be available in Raid Battles after February 14 - so get going if you still need Kyogre in your Pokédex! We will also get new special boxes containing Raid Passes, Incubators, and Star Pieces, from now until February 23.
