MTV Style: Lazy Oaf x Garfield
The original grumpy cat goes high fashion...
In their ongoing campaign to brighten up our wardrobe with pop culture prints, Lazy Oaf have followed up their Looney Toons collection from last year with an orange explosion featuring everyone’s favourite fat cat, Garfield.
Long before Grumpy Cat stole the Internet’s heart, sardonic, lazy, lasagna-eating Garfield was the original cranky kitty beloved by all (and voiced by Hollywood legend Bill Murray in a 2004 live-action film).
And now you can wear him loud and proud on an array of apparel, including a bodysuit, oversized jumper, crop top and, for the guys, skater shorts and comic print shirts. One of our favourite pieces from the collection is a pastel pink dress covered in various Garfield incarnations, which would look just purr-fect teamed with ankle boots and a leather jacket.
Lazy Oaf founder Gemma Sheil told Wonderland magazine of the collab: “As a brand we’re so cartoon influenced and I’m always drawing fat lazy cats and appropriating them somewhere, so I thought it would be really nice to do something with Garfield.”
“He almost epitomises the Lazy Oaf character in cat form. He’s ambivalent, he loves food and he doesn’t want to move very far – he’s a lazy oaf!”
