A new' Gear of Wars 4 'trailer has been unleashed on the interwebs – and IT'S ALL VERY EXCITING.

The fourth installment in the third person shoot 'em-up for the Xbox has already been shown off in gameplay at E3, but this trailer reveals more story.

The 'Gear of War 4' trailer reveals details of the relationship between Marcus Fenix and his son JD. This game is set 25 years after 'Gear of War 3', which starred Marcus as the main character. The glimpse of what to expect is pretty dark and moving.

The official blurb says: "JD Fenix must embrace his father's legacy and battle a terrifying new enemy".

The trailer is played out to a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's 'The Sound of Silence'. The footage shows young JD and his father planting a tree in the past while splicing in current scenes of JD battling a new monster on the same spot, in the present day.

Gear of War has always had a decent story but been more about the button bashing bad-guy blasting. Perhaps this installment will delve deeper into story. As long as it doesn't lose the action we're not complaining. Watch the trailer below and prepare to feel tingly.
