*** Justin Timberlake has spent a day with an award winning investigative journalist in preparation for his role in forthcoming movie 'Edison'. The solo star was shown the process of accessing public records in multi-million dollar lawsuits by Associated Press big gun Bob Porterfield. "He seemed attentive and interested in learning this stuff," said Porterfield of JT's shadowing. He has a real interest in developing his part."
*** Natalie Appleton has given birth to a baby boy. The 29-year-old former All Saint and her husband - Prodigy's Liam Howlett - have named their son Ace. The glamorously named 6lb 13oz newborn is Natalie's second child, but her first with Howlett. "Liam is thrilled at being a first-time dad," said an Appleton spokesperson. "Mother and baby are both doing very well."
*** Elton John has spoken of his desire to marry his partner David Furnish. "I'm totally for it," he said. "In this day and age, if people who want to make a life commitment can't have protection, then we live in a pretty sick world. I would like to commit myself to David. I already have in my mind anyway." A Civil Partnerships Bill giving gay couples greater rights, is currently passing through Parliament.
*** Kelly Osbourne was shocked to win 20,000 worth of jewellery in a raffle at Elton John's Oscars afterparty it has emerged. "I can't believe I just won $25,000 worth of jewellery!" she cooed after the annual AIDS charity bash. "I just won a Cartier watch and some Chopard stuff. "It was a $500 raffle ticket, and I just thought, what the hell, it all goes to charity."
*** The Strokes' guitarist Albert Hammond Jr says they'd love to team up with The Pixies for some kind of collaboration at this year's T in The Park festival. "I know that we're lucky enough to be playing with the Pixies, which is a dream come true really," he said. "And who knows, maybe something happens with the band, but you know it's more fun to be spontaneous with that. "
