*** Westlife's Bryan McFadden has appeared in court to face charges of speeding and careless driving. The boyband star and his 'I'm A Celebrity' queen of the jungle wife Kerry were present at Balbriggan District Court, Co Dublin to face the three charges relating to his speediness on the M1 on September 23, 2002.
*** Britney Spears received good reviews for the opening night of her latest world tour on Tuesday, March 2 in San Diego. The show's set only includes a handful of old favourites, including 'Baby One More Time' and 'I'm A Slave For You', preferring to concentrate on Britney's new album 'In The Zone'. The tour comes to the UK in April.
*** Beyonce's band came to the rescue of a 91-year-old man in Florida who was the victim of a carjacking. Drummer Nisan Stewart, guitarist Shaun Carrington and bassist Kern Brantley blocked the route of victim's car as the thief tried to speed away from the scene of the crime.
*** The line-up has been announced for this year's All Tomorrow's Parties. The annual gathering, taking place over the consecutive weekends March 26 " 28 and April 2 " 4, will see the likes of Dizzee Rascal, The Tindersticks, Har Mar Superstar, Love and Cat Power take to the stage. This year's curators include Mogwai, Stephen Malkmus and Sonic Youth.
*** Missy Elliot is launching her own reality TV show. The series, as yet untitled, follows a group of aspiring rappers who tour the US with Missy, competing in weekly elimination challenges.
