*** Beyonce Knowles will belt out the American national anthem before this years Super Bowl on February 1 in her hometown of Houston. Janet Jackson is also set to sing at the event as part of the half time show.
*** Britney Spears is on Hugh Hefners list of the beautiful women hed like to appear in his Playboy mag. The renowned womaniser has said the singer "really epitomises the type of beauty that we like in the magazine."
*** Meanwhile, reports say Britney treated ex-hubby Jason Alexander to a luxury holiday in the Caribbean prior to their joke wedding. She is also said to have forked out 80,000 on a Porsche for Jason to help make up for any upset the prank may have caused.
*** Jenny Frost is on the verge of quitting Atomic Kitten and going solo, if one tabloid report is to be believed. The singer has apparently been telling friends she is considering leaving the chart-topping trio after their forthcoming tour.
*** Pop Idol runners-up Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes have been teamed up by music guru Simon Fuller to record a rendition of The Beatles With A Little Help From My Friends. The song will be released next month.
*** Blazin Squad are in trouble with record bosses after making a saucy video for their latest single Here 4 One. Reports say the boys had to re-shoot a clean version of the promo after persuading a bevy of beauties to misbehave on set.
*** Missy Elliot has answered criticism about her weight loss after fat fans expressed their anger at her image change. "I still represent for overweight people but I was diagnosed with hypertension, which can lead to heart attacks and death," she explained on her website.
*** Jack White and Jason Stollsteimer will see each other at this years NME Awards for the first time since their bar room punch-up in December. Organisers of the London show have beefed up security just in case The White Stripes and Von Bondies frontmen clash again.
*** Ashanti has bagged herself a film role. She will play a supporting part in Coach Carter starring Samuel L Jackson. Its the singers first big-screen performance in the movie, which centres on the life of a high school basketball coach.
*** Mel C is planning to release records on her own label after recently being dumped by Virgin, reports say. The star was dropped after her album Reason and her latest single Melt/Yeh Yeh Yeh both bombed.
