*** The Libertines, Muse, Faithless and Snow Patrol have been added to the line-up for Oxegen festival. The new additions join the likes of David Bowie, The Darkness, The Strokes, N.E.R.D, Massive Attack and Wu-Tang Clan. Oxegen takes place on July 10 and 11 at Punchestown Racecourse outside Dublin.
*** Mel C has announced a series of intimate gigs at Barfly venues around the country. The former Spice Girl will play Glasgow Barfly on June 12, York Fibbers (13), Liverpool Loft (14), Cardiff Barfly (16), London Barfly (17). The gigs are to showcase material from Mel's forthcoming album that she will release on her new record label Red Girl.
*** The Darkness are to take part in one of this year's Soccer Six events. The rock outfit will take on other celebrity teams at Everton's Goodison Park football ground on May 9. Money raised from the Soccer Six events, which are also being held at Leeds' Elland Road on May 16 and Chelsea's Stamford Bridge on May 23, goes to the Prince's Trust and Give A Child A Chance.
*** The Hives have announced a one-off UK gig. The Swedish band, who have been holed up for some time working on the follow-up album to 2000's 'Veni Vidi Vicious', will play London's Electric Ballroom on June 3. Tickets are 12.50. They have also been confirmed for this year's Leeds and Reading festivals as well as Download festival.
*** Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated pop single since 'Touch My Bum', Peter Andre's 'Insania', is now available to download as a ringtone from MTV's interactive service. Andre's catchy jungle creation can take pride of place on your mobile by pressing red on your remote and going to Ringtones. The single itself, meanwhile, get its premiere on radio 1 tomorrow morning (April 8).
