***Duran Duran have been besieged by teenage fans as they toured a specialist music school funded by the BRIT Awards. Clearly slightly bemused by the attention but impressed by the school, Simon Le Bon commented, "Suddenly, it makes a lot more sense - the whole BRITs thing. Awards ceremonies are slightly bogus if that's all there is".
*** Radiohead are to release a new collection of rarities, remixes and B-sides, but the Com Lag EP will only be available in Japan and on import in the UK. Released on March 29, the ten-track EP will include B-sides and remixes of all the singles taken from Hail To The Thief, a live version of '2+2=5' and the Ed Holdsworth video for 'Sit Down, Stand Up'.
*** Busted are such big fans of The Darkness and Radiohead that they have written an apology speech should they win the Best British Group award at next week's BRITs. Charlie Simpson explained that it is "such an honour to be in the same category as Radiohead". Bandmate James Bourne added, "The Breakthrough or Pop awards sound more like it for us".

*** Bookmakers have slashed the odds from 50/1 to 3/1 on Peter Andre scoring a number one hit in 2004 with his jungle-inspired song 'Insania'. Ladbrokes say that since the 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' final on Monday evening, there has been a flurry of bets on the tune.
*** Meanwhile, the bookmakers are offering odds of 4/1 on Kerry McFadden having a UK number one single this year and 7/1 that she appears in an advert for Currys in 2004.
