*** Oasis have revealed the release date for their new album. Noel Gallagher has reportedly said that the band have set themselves a deadline after not working hard enough. "It's been meandering for a bit because we've not had a date to work to," he said. "Now we have to have it finished by May 26."
*** Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are not legally married, say reports. US newspapers claim that the couple haven't sent their marriage license off, and so are not man and wife according to Californian law. US Weekly go so far as to claim that the wedding was a hoax and that they have a four-page document to proves it.
*** Green Day are considering bringing their just-released American Idiot album to the big screen. The punk trio say they are thinking about casting Good Charlotte for the project, and that they havent yet chosen a scriptwriter. "It sounds really exciting," said singer Billie Joe Armstrong, "but for right now it's just talk."
*** Franz Ferdinand, The Streets and Dizzee Rascal are among the final nominees for the Shortlist Music Prize, the US equivalent of the Mercury Music Prize. The British acts are amongst the ten final nominees and were chosen from an initial list of 73 artists. The judge panel includes Norah Jones, Robert Smith, Massive Attack's 3D and Jack Black.
*** Fatboy Slim is to launch his forthcoming album with a special event at Brighton and Hove Albion's football ground. The Withdean stadium will be renamed after Norman Cook's new album, 'Palookavill', on October 2. The album will be premiered on the night to a crowd of 7000 Albion fans, and will be officially released two days later.
