*** Will Young, Dido and Glasgow indie band Belle and Sebastian have been shortlisted for Best Song Of 2003 at the prestigious Ivor Novello awards. Will's 'Leave Right Now', Dido's 'White Flag' and 'Step into My Office Baby' by Belle and Sebastian are all nominated for the major prize at the annual songwriting awards, to take place in London on May 27.
*** Keith Duffy says Boyzone will get back together this year if there is enough interest from fans. According to press reports, Keith said: "Since our appearance on The Games, there's been a lot of stories about us reforming. We never really broke up. There was a bit of a war between members, which had been exaggerated by the press but we all said 'F*** what happened, let's move forward and forget the bad times.'"
*** Prince Harry is to meet Avril Lavigne backstage after she performs at the Party in the Park this summer. It's reported he wanted the Canadian teenager to headline the event, which is being held on July 11 and hosted by his father Prince Charles.
*** The Darkness have walked out of a US agony aunt radio show after a caller rang in to say she'd been sexually assaulted. The band was due to appear on Loveline to answer questions, but reports say they were clearly unaware of the kind of issues that might be discussed. A spokesman for The Darkness said: "The fact they left the show says it all. They felt very uncomfortable."
*** Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm is to set up her own record label after turning down the chance to sign for Simon Fuller's Spice reunion. Instead she's going to put 40,000 into recording an album on Red Girl Records and will plug new material in a series of gigs around the country this summer.
*** A waxworks of Beyonce Knowles, complete with wiggling bum, is being developed by Madame Tussaud's. Sculptors have been working for three months to perfect the waxwork and fit it with a special mechanical bottom.
