*** Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson have been invited to perform in a tribute concert for Bee Gee Maurice Gibb. The event will be held in the US next year, and is being organised by Maurice's twin brother Robin. Actor John Travolta has been approached to host the concert. Maurice died in January 2003 following surgery on his intestines.
*** Brian McFadden and wife Kerry have apparently split after just under three years of marriage. According to reports, the pair have seen each other just twice in the last two months. The tabloids suggest that Kerry hasn't forgiven her husband for a one-night stand with a lap-dancer on his stag night in October 2001.
*** John Lennon's murderer, Mark Chapman, could be released from prison next month. According to officials at the New York State Parole Division, Chapman is due for a parole hearing in the week beginning October 4. Chapman, who shot Lennon on December 8 1980 in New York, has had two previous requests for parole denied.
*** U2's European tour will kick off with two hometown concerts in Dublin. According to Irish press, the band will perform at the city's Croke Park on June 26 and 27, and may add a third show on June 28. 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb', U2's first album for four years, is due for release on November 22.
*** Jamelia has reportedly turned down Colin Farrell's offer to help her make it in LA - branding him a 'tramp'. The Hollywood star said he would be happy to show the R&B singer around when she arrives in LA, but Jamelia has allegedly declined the offer. She was quoted saying: "I don't really go for people just because they're good looking."
