*** Christina Aguilera has cancelled her upcoming US tour with Chingy. The singer has vocal strain and doctors have ordered her not to sing for the next six weeks - bad news for anyone expecting to see her or Chingy on the 29-date outing that the two had planned. "I'm extremely disappointed to have to cancel this tour," Aguilera said in a statement.
*** A man found trespassing at the LA home of Britney's dad has been arrested. Daniel Lachance, 25, was arrested after entering the property of Jamie Spears on Tuesday night. He was held on charges of criminal trespassing and stalking, on $150,000 bond. According to a police spokesperson, this is the second time this month Lachance has been arrested for being on the property of the Spears family.
*** JC Chasez has leapt to the defense of Britney Spears after she was criticised for miming on her UK tour. Support act JC said: "People go to a Stevie Wonder show to listen and really dig what he's doing vibe-wise. When you go to Britney show you'll see a spectacle." He compared Britney's tour to a Michael Jackson concert.
*** Nelly has been sued by a rap group who claim he stole their group's name for his clothing label, Vokal. Rap group Vokal want Nelly to stop using the name, which they have recorded under since 1994. The suit is expected to claim millions in damages. "Right now, since we don't have an accounting of the profits, we can't completely quantify the damages," Michael Santucci, the group's lawyer, said.
*** A musical about John Lennon's life will open on Broadway in early 2005. 'Lennon' will follow the life of the Beatles star, from his childhood in Merseyside to his assassination to New York. Yoko Ono, John Lennon's widow has given her blessing for the music, which will include the Lennon/McCartney song 'Give Peace A Chance'.
