New Faces of MTV News!

MTV News has undergone a facelift (well more a face-change really). The mighty Tim Kash has been replaced by brand new news-hungry news-hounds Shantha Roberts and Rickie Haywood-Williams.

Yes, after years of relentlessly extracting news-juice from the world's biggest stars on behalf of MTV UK, Tim has packed his manbag with baseball caps and jetted over to the US of A as the new anchorman for MTV US. Go get 'em, Tim!

Don't worry though Kash fans, Tim isn't disappearing out of your life completely - he'll be doing Stateside news reports for UK News as well as covering big events for us too.

So while Tim shares champagne cocktails and back-rubs with P Diddy, taking over the reigns of UK News are Shantha and Rickie.

The pair will host all MTV News on MTV UK, plus bulletins on MTV Hits, VH1, MTV Base and TMF News.

You'll also see them both in daily MTV News bulletins on Overdrive, every morning and afternoon.

So what's the deal with these newcomers? Here's a bit about them...

Shantha:
Shantha is 24 and she's from Glasgow. She loves music (The Fratellis, Arcade Fire and Lily Allen are a few of her favourites), fashion, nature and animals. She's previously been a presenter for BBC Scotland, appeared in music videos, hosted theScottish Style Awards, and had her fit face on an album cover (Belle & Sebastian's 'Dear Catastrophe Waitress'). Shatha loves drawing pictures, she speaks fluent French and German, and she quite fancies Liv Tyler (but she's not a lesbian!).

Rickie
Rickie is 26 and he's from Croydon. He loves music (Nathan, Omarion, Groove Armada are a few of his favourites), sports, movies and playing computer games. He presents the weekend breakfast show on Kiss FM, presents The Hook-Up on myspace, and has previously worked for Radio 1 and 1Extra. Rickie organises and hosts a regular new talent showcase night, likes to snowboard, and fancies Kelly Brook, Halle Berry and Nicole from Pussycat Dolls.
