This Week's Top Ten

Girls Aloud and Sugababes are knocked off the top spot, but the new No 1 still has a Comic feel...

The Proclaimers and comedy dudes Brian Potter and Andy Pipkin have stormed to No 1 in the singles chart, as predicted by MTV.co.uk last week.

The single, 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) is the other official Comic Relief single so Babes/Aloud shouldn't feel too dismayed about being knocked from the top spot.

It's a good week for Avril Lavigne too, whose tipsily written anthem 'Girlfriend' has landed at No 3, while Maximo Park get a high new entry with 'Our Velocity' at No 9.

Elsewhere, Brummie indie boys and stars of MTV2's Spanking New show last week, The Twang, get their first top 20 hit with 'Wide Awake' securing 'em a No 15.

In the album charts, Take That's 'Beautiful World' goes back up to No 1, with rock-ravers Enter Shikara getting the highest new entry at No 4 with debut alb, 'Take To The Skies'.

Unlucky for some, but not for Good Charlotte, the US rockers land a No 13 spot with new offering 'Good Morning Revival' while indie types Rakes hit No 38 with 'Ten New Messages'.
