They might still be relatively new in the reality TV stakes, but the Geordie Shore gang have already set their sights on becoming more successful than their Southern rivals from ITV2 show, The Only Way Is Essex.
The TOWIE crew may have already won a BAFTA, but North-East hunk Jay Gardner has claimed that Geordie Shore is hoping to pinch their TV crown.
Jay claimed: "We were over the moon when we found out The Only Way is Essex had won a Bafta. It’s amazing to think that next year we could be in the same position."
The 25-year old added: “Geordie Shore is much faster pace and on a different level. It shows all the great places of Newcastle and what a party city it is. It’s all real and we hope that after this we can film a second series.”
Vicky Pattinson agreed with her co-star, stating to Nuts magazine: "What's really sexy about Geordie Shore is that we're all ourselves, whereas girls in Essex are constantly dolled up to the nines."
While the rest of the cast set their sights on award show glory, 21-year old Sophie Kasaei has revealed that she just wants to make her native South Shields proud.
Born-and-bred from the land that gave us 'ickleJoe McElderry, Sophie stated: "I honestly think once people watch it, they will love it. I’m a Shields lass through and through, so don’t go to Newcastle much for nights out."
She added: "The show’s really about twenty-somethings having a good time. I just hope I do make the people of Shields proud.”
Geordie Shore hits your screens tonight @ 10pm only on MTV!
