Amal Alamuddin will henceforth be known as Amal Clooney when going about her work as a high-flying human rights lawyer.

But rather than make a big announcement about the change, the 36-year-old who made an honest man out of George Clooney quietly changed her profile on law firm Doughty Street Chambers' website to her new name and waited for the world to catch on.

However once the cat was out of the bag, the website got so many hits that it reportedly crashed.

Her full name will now be Amal Alamuddin Clooney, but she will just be using her new hubby's surname for brevity's sake while in the courtroom.

The pair have been keeping busy since their recent wedding in Venice, with George heading off to New York's Comic Con to promote new movie Tomorrowland and Amal jetting to Greece to help negotiate the return of the iconic Parthenon marbles from the British Museum.
