George Clooney is officially off the market after registering his intention to marry fiancée Amal Alamuddin.

The silver fox and his lawyer bride-to-be reportedly visited Chelsea Register Office in London just over two weeks ago, where they posted their wedding banns - legal notice of their plans to marry, which must be displayed in public for 16 days before they can get hitched.

[related]According to The Mirror, the loved-up couple signed the documents at Chelsea Town Hall - and the paper claims the notice reveals they plan to marry in Italy, most likely at George’s Lake Como home.

And since the Hollywood star persuaded the mayor of Laglio to guarantee his privacy with a number of laws designed to keep the paps away until 30 September, it looks like the big day is fast approaching.

Clooney started dating in September last year - he popped the question in April, handing Amal a seven-carat diamond ring.
