George Clooney Will Not Marry Amal Alamuddin Today
Chelsea Old Town Hall issues a statement to set the record straight...
Despite much rumour and speculation, it turns out that George Clooney will not be marrying Amal Alamuddin today – at least not at Chelsea Old Town Hall.
The West London venue was forced to post a notice to set the record straight after a hoard of paparazzi and journalists set up camp on Chelsea's Kings Road.
The formally-written notice asked members of the press to not cause disruption to other couples getting married at the venue, reports The Express.
It read: "We are NOT conducting the wedding of Mr Clooney at this office today (Friday 12th September) and a film crew and press photographers would only cause plausible disruption to other couples getting married on this day. So we would ask that the press do not attend."
Rumours began circulating that the couple would wed at the West London venue today after reports appeared in the US press.
Last week, George revealed plans for his nuptials when he made a public declaration of his love for Amal at the Celebrity Fight Night event in Florence, Italy.
“I would just like to say to my bride-to-be Amal that I love you very much and I can’t wait to be your husband,” he said as he accepted his award.
"I met my bride-to-be in Italy, and I will be married in Italy soon, in a couple of weeks. In Venice, of all places."
So it seems we’ll just have to wait a little longer 'til gorgeous George gets hitched…
