George Clooney's Fiancée 'Played Hard To Get'
British lawyer reportedly turned down his first dinner invites...
But it seems the British lawyer may have won the heart of the notoriously commitment-phobic actor by sticking to the old adage: "Treat 'em mean to keep 'em keen."
The Daily Mail reports a source as revealing that 36-year-old Alamuddin actually refused to date Clooney for the first couple of times that he asked her.
The mole said: "Clooney asked her out for dinner and she put him off twice, saying she was too busy, before accepting the third time.
"She was operating on the lines of 'treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen,' and clearly it worked. Clooney was beguiled by her and she had the upper hand."
And the source went on to explain that the high-flying barrister's down-to-earth approach to Gorgeous George is the secret of their compatibility.
"What he likes about her is that she treats him normally. He is so used to being fawned over that it's refreshing for him. And of course, she is a brilliant human rights lawyer — but quite an operator too, you might say.
"She has met a whole bunch of A-listers through him and is seemingly quite cool about it, though you suspect she's loving it."
