According to The Mirror, an unnamed doctor at the hospital told a local newspaper that George is also being treated for serious heart problems by a cardiologist - which has been dismissed as "absolute nonsense" by his spokesman.
Staff at Vienna's AHK General Hospital have since confirmed that the Careless Whisper hitmaker has been moved to intensive care, but could not disclose any more information.
A source told the newspaper: "He’s getting the very best care and we are all praying he gets better as soon as possible.”
Michael's publicist has since refused to comment on the new reports, but claimed: “George is getting really great care. He’s doing fine and he just needs to rest.”
The star has apparently vowed to beat pneumonia and reschedule his cancelled shows next week, with his friends telling The Sun that George still hopes to perform in Liverpool on 30th November as part of his Symphonica tour.
