George Michaelhas been jailed for eight weeks for driving under the influence of drugs.
The former-Wham! singer, who crashed into a Snappy Snaps store in Hampstead, North London in July, was found with cannabis in his possession and admitted to taking a 'small quantity' the night of the accident, as well as a newly-prescribed sedative.
Michael, real name Georgios Panayiotou, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court today to learn his fate, where it was decided that the singer would have to complete an eight week jail term as punishment.
The 47-year old had previously pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drugs and possessing two cannabis joints.
George claimed to have 'forgotten' that he had taken the sedative as well as the class B drug the night before the crash on the 4th July, with his barrister claiming Michael was 'clearly unfit to drive.'
Four years ago, the Careless Whisper singer faced similar charges after he was found collapsed in his Mercedes after a drug binge in 2006.
Michael has been on the wrong side of the law on numerous occasions including incidents of drug possession, several minor accidents and he was also once fined for 'engaging in a lewd act' in a California public toilet.
