Gerard Butler Admitted To Rehab For Substance Abuse

The actor checked into a clinic three weeks ago & is set to leave today...

Actor Gerard Butlerhas reportedly been admitted to rehab to receive help with his substance abuse problem.
According to TMZ, the P.S I Love You star entered the Betty Ford Centre three weeks ago after apparently feeling that he was too dependant on prescription drugs, admitting himself to the clinic in a bid to avoid addiction.
It is thought the 42-year old's problems with drugs began shortly after his starring role in 2006 flick 300, where he had issues with pain management.
These problems allegedly escalated following a [uuid=9293cdb1-acbe-4dc8-8c65-50c141b913b6]serious surfing accident he had back in December[/uuid], when shooting a stunt for new movie Of Men And Mavericks, which is based on the life of late surfer, Jay Moriarty.
Butler is said to have cheated death when he was forced under water by some huge waves at Mavericks on the San Francisco coast.
The Scottish hunk later admitted the episode was a "close call", insisting he would chose film roles more careful in the future.
Gerard is apparently due to leave rehab later today (24th February).
