1) For those who don’t know about you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from…
I’m just a creative born & raised in south-east London.
2) Describe your sound in three words...
Euphoric Alternative R&B
3) Who inspired you to start a career in music?
The earliest memory I have of who inspired me to want to do music would be watching young MJ on a VHS tape, I think it was called “Michael Jackson: the legend continues”, but yeah from that moment I remember I was sold.
4) Who are your biggest musical influences?
MJ, Brandy, Coldplay, Frank Ocean, James Blake, Tame Impala, Labrinth.
5) Tell us about the writing and recording process for your new album…
This particular project has been very organic, I haven’t necessarily been writing with the intention of making a body of work. When I try to approach creativity with fixed intentions - it’s never really as fluid.
Most songs I write will always start with a melody, I like to let the melody marinate if I have the time to, then lyric later. That way the songs kind of write themselves and essentially that's how the project forms.
6) What can we expect from your live shows?
Great Aesthetic & Sound.
7) What has been your biggest career highlight so far?
Opening for Mary J Blige at the 02 Arena a few years ago. The timing was weird but the experience was one I’d love to relive.
8) Have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?
Not yet.
9) What’s on your iPod/playlists that people wouldn’t expect?
Sheku Kanne-Mason. Incredible cellist.
10) When can we see you live?
ASAP! God willing.
