We caught up with the hip-hop four piece...

This week's featured artists are West London four piece, The Age Of L.U.N.A.

We caught up with the hip-hop group, check out our interview...

1. For those who don’t know about you and your music, tell us a little bit about who you are and where you’re from…

We are the gang The Age Of L.U.N.A, a bunch of friends from West London who share a passion and are on a quest together. Now everyone can introduce themselves…

Kyoto: I am Kyote Noir and I am 1/3 of The Age of L.U.N.A. I like to think I can do everything but I’m a rapper before anything.

Daniella-Louise: Daniella-Louise Thomas(daniellawizard) vocalist and saxophonist of The Age of L.U.N.A. I’m on a journey to discover what's unknown.

Butch: My names Butch Arkas, I'm one of the rappers residing from West London.

2. Describe your sound in three words…

Daniella: Experimental, youthful and starry.

Kyote: Beautiful, raging and nostalgic.

3. Who inspired you to start a career in music?

Daniella: We had inspired each other and continue to, but the main inspiration came from the L.U.N.A attitude that anything is possible, and this is what we want.

Kyote: Myself. My brother got me into rap music from young but no one ever thought I’d take it to new heights.

4. Who are your biggest musical influences?

As a band we have a wide variety of different musical influences that we merge together to create the L.U.N.A sound. Our MAIN influences can be found on our previous interview with MTV so we will switch this Q up and list some things we been loving recently...

Daniella: Taylor Mcferrin, Dutch, Robin Thicke, Kelis, Sir.

Kyote: I don’t really have favourites anymore because all my influences are amazing in their own right; this question always gets me. As some to name… Eminem, Fela Kuti, Prince, Sk8brd P, Kid Cudi.

Butch: Sir, Thundercat, Dave East.

5. Tell us about the writing and recording process for your new single/album…

Daniella: Our EP which is released next month, presents a deep journey of the band’s emotion, exposing our thoughts through sounds and words. We shot a video to the EP's single ‘B*d* & ***l’ which is being released beforehand to give an insight into the project. Our first debut album has the oldest L.U.N.A recordings to date, it features songs that we recorded within the first few months of L.U.N.A’s formation, with this in mind expect our younger voices and the essence of excitement of the beginning of it all.

Kyote: NKOK would send us backing tracks and we’d all sit together and write. My favourite song on the album is ‘Indigo’ because that’s the first time I’ve lived through a song, my first few lines happened on the day I wrote and recorded it. Those are the best songs for me.

6. What can we expect from your live shows?

Daniella: Every show has a little difference as we perform pretty naturally. So expect to see a real representation of who we are together and as individuals and our mood that day haha…

Kyote: Energy.

7. What has been your biggest career highlight so far?

Daniella: There have been so many things we are grateful for, from our second ever performance being the support to DJ premiere and Royce da 5'9. To meeting and supporting the likes of Pete Rock and Public Enemy and then last summer travelling to Croatia to support Anderson .Paak in paradise! One of the biggest highlights was probably performing at Glastonbury which was absolutely amazing and this year seeing ourselves on the flyer for Wireless was nuts too.

Kyote: Founding out we’re doing Wireless.

8. Have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?

Daniella: Not yet.

Kyote: Nah but I remember meeting Trevor Nelson at Glastonbury, he introduced us, we made our debut TV performance and thinking… “I need to get a picture for my mum”.

9. What’s on your iPod/playlists that people wouldn’t expect?
