Ghostbusters Is Now The Most Disliked Movie Of All Time
At least on YouTube…
You know what, I’m gonna go straight in and say that I am super looking forward to Paul Feig’s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. It looks absolutely hilarious, and has one of the best casts of any comedy in recent memory.
The same cannot be said for certain members of the YouTube community, who have made Ghostbusters the number one least liked movie in trailer history, using the awesome power of the ‘thumbs down’ button.
Released on March 3rd, the trailer, which has been viewed more than 29 million times, has received over 588 thousand dislikes, compared to 211 thousand likes, and has made it onto the prestigious “Most Disliked Video” list, coming in at number 23. And, just in case you were wondering, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” tops the list.
Taking a look through the comments, it’s not easy to see exactly why the video is so disliked, but it’s definitely nothing to do with the film having an all-female cast, honest.
So far there’s been no reaction from the film’s director, Paul Feig, but a few days after the trailer dropped, he said: “I was a comedy fan, but I had not seen something like this — combining comedy with science and the supernatural and action. When Ivan asked if I would be interested in doing a new one, it blew my mind. I love the idea that a new generation is going to have their own Ghostbusters. … It was important to capture the heart of what we loved about the original but also bring something new.”
So congrats, certain members of the YouTube community, you’ve shown just how little you’re looking forward to Ghostbusters, but you know what, I can’t wait to see Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth kicking some serious spectral ass.
