Ghostbusters Sequel: Everything We Know

Despite suffering through probably the most tedious online backlash in recent memory, Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot might be getting a sequel after all… at least according to original director and long-term franchise Godfather, Ivan Reitman.

Last we heard, Ghostbusters’ so-so return at the box office was thought to have torpedoed any potential follow-up, but according to Reitman, hopes for a sequel aren’t dead in the water just yet. “There's going to be many other Ghostbusters movies," confirmed the director. “They're just in development right now.”

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and friends will be making a return. At one stage there was a lot of buzz about a male-centric reboot with Channing Tatum and Chris Pratt, so could that plan be picked up again?

That said, hopefully the girls will get another go-around, particularly if Feig can be convinced to get back on board. However, after the social media meltdown that greeted the first film, it might not be right at the top of his to-do list… come on Paul, we want more!
