When Bill Murray suggested Kristen Wiig for the cast of a female-led Ghostbusters movie, many fans nodded sagely in agreement.

And now it seems Wiig might have been nodding along too, because she's suggested that she'd be happy to take a role in the long-awaited third instalment of the franchise.

Speaking to Yahoo!, the 41-year-old star of Bridesmaids said: "That’s very flattering, I guess they’re making one from what I hear, which is pretty great."

And when pressed on the subject, she answered: "I will do whatever Bill Murray tells me to."

Her publicist then interrupted to say: "That will run everywhere."

To which Wiig replied: "I know, that’s why I said it."

So there you go.
