Tommy Hilfiger Didn't Cast Gigi Hadid In His Show Because She 'Wasn't Quite As Thin' As Other Girls
Come on fashion industry, it's 2016.
Because it's all about taking one step forward and a thousand steps back when it comes to body image in the fashion industry, it's been revealed that even Gigi Hadid (off of supermodels) gets body shamed.
Tommy Hilfiger recently told Yahoo's Style Editor in Chief Joe Zee that his casting director deemed Gigi too short and fat for a 2015 show.
“Our casting director said, ‘She doesn’t really fit because you know she’s not quite as tall as the other girls, she’s not quite as thin.’ So they put a red, white, and blue poncho on her. It covered a lot of her body, unfortunately, but it received millions of hits,” Hilfiger explained.

Hilfiger was clearly determined to collaborate with the model though, with Gigi later walking for the SS16 show and eventually the pair working on their very own TommyxGigi collection which recently had it's launch.
Sort yourself out, fashion industry.
