Girls Aloud 'Ten - The Hits' Tour: Review

London's O2 Arena, 01/03/2013...

As the familiar chimes of Sarah Harding made their descent above the waiting crowds, meaning only one thing… Girls Aloud were back.
Following a three year break, which saw all five members explore different solo ventures, it seemed as if they had never been away, gracing the stage together once again, much to the delight of their adoring audience.

Wearing matching silver, black and gold outfits, the girls stepped off the giant letters that spelled out GIRLS ALOUD and treated fans to a blast from the past in the form of No Good Advice, while also slowing things down with ballad, Life Got Cold.
Cheryl was very much a dominant force on stage, and thanks to her recent solo jaunt, she seemed the most comfortable, taking charge and shouting "Hello London" in her very familiar Geordie twang.

After a quick costume change, they returned to face their audience in elaborate, feathered outfits to walk the catwalk and sing hits The Show, Love Machine and Can't Speak French.
They then belted out ballad Whole Lotta History - which they performed in front of a montage of some of their most iconic moments - leaving the girls emotional as they clearly reflected on ten years together.

Following an injection of fun with Biology, the O2 was then forced into darkness, showing a more sexy yet sinister side to the girlband, with them stepping back onto their GIRLS ALOUD letters to storm across the audience while singing Sexy! No No No.
Touching down in the middle of the arena, they powered through hits Untouchable, new song On The Metro - which fitted perfectly into their set of GA classics - and Call The Shots, a favourite with the fans.

Another outfit transformation later, dressed in similar black-and-white outfits, Girls Aloud burst back on to the stage with classic Something Kinda Ooh - with Cheryl even playfully spanking Kimberley on the bottom, much to the delight of the audience.
Next came a cover of Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe which received a great reaction from the crowd and while the girls performed a confident and convincing version of the song, it seemed a bit out of place to include such a cover, especially when their own roster of hits is already so impressive.

Nicola went on to show off her incredible vocals when singing their latest single Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me, slowing the pace down before Nadine insisted they went out with a bang with comeback single, Something New - a highlight of the night.
As Nadine sang "Go girls g-g-go, go, go, We girls gonna take control" - it was clear the girlband had done just that, putting on an explosive performance to bring an end to their fun-filled set.
However, the girls were not done yet, returning in matching red, sparkly floor-length dresses for their encore, as things got emotional again with track I'll Stand By You.

They then closed their Ten Tour with Brit Award winning single The Promise, proving that back on stage together is where they belong, with Cheryl stating: "There’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be right now. It’s been an emotional evening but I wouldn’t have wanted to share it with anyone else, so thank you.”
And with that, the girls waltzed off the stage, reminding us of the impressive ten year career they have shared. Girls Aloud's tour had it all - tears and emotions, mixed with glitter and sparkle, proving that these girls are definitely the leaders of the pack and know how to put on an impressive show.
