Girls Aloud will hang up their love machines in September, according to tabloid reports.

The five-piece pop powerhouse, famous for their huge hits and nice bits, apparently feel like theyve taken the band as far as it can go, and will reportedly work on solo endeavours after a Greatest Hits tour and festival appearances this summer.

A source supposedly told News Of The World: "The band will finish this year and all the girls are focusing on what they want to do next.

"They all feel they've done their time in a pop band and have taken it as far as they can go. Like the Spice Girls, they won't announce they've split, just that they have 'taken a break'."

Dont start crying all over your Sound Of The Underground mouse-mats just yet though Girls Aloud fans; the planned split hasnt been confirmed by the Girls Aloud camp. So it might be rubbish.

And in happier Girls Aloud news, the fivesome have just signed a 4 million deal to advertise Sunsilk hair products!
