Foo Fighters have confirmed that they will be headlining this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Dave Grohl and Co made the announcement at last night’s NME Awards, where they appeared via video link to accept the Best International Band Prize.

[related]Grohl stated: “We're very thankful and very happy - sorry we couldn't make it tonight, but we will be seeing you over the summer at some big outdoor festival that nobody knows we're playing…

“It's Glastonbury. So we'll see you at Glastonbury - thanks a lot everybody."

The festival then confirmed the news on Instagram, uploading a poster nailed to a tree, revealing that the Foos will grace the stage on Friday, June 26.

The Seattle rockers are the first major headliner confirmed, with Adele also heavily rumoured to take to the stage at the event.

Glasto takes place across the weekend of June 26 - 28. We can’t wait to rock out…
