Half Glastonbury Tickets Sell
Tickets for the festival go on sale early and get sold quickly
Glastonbury Festival tickets for 2009 went on sale yesterday with half already sold.
Last year tickets struggled to sell with the weather at previous events and a complex ticketing system blamed.
So this year the Eavis clan- who host Glasto on their Somerset farm- decided to start flogging tickets early.
And yesterday around 70,000 fans snapped them up- some paying the full price and otehrs stumping up a 50 deposit.
For the first time the 2009 festival will be a five-day event with a full pass costing 175.
Headliners for next year are due to be announced in the near future according to Emily Eavis although shes already ruled out The Rolling Stones, Coldplay and U2 playing.
Last year Jay Z, Kings Of Leon and The Verve headlined the Pyramid stage in 2008.
